The event in the Linen Hall Library will be Northern Ireland’s opportunity to come together and highlight that AIDS is still affecting many people globally and this includes Northern Ireland. The event will also help raise the awareness of AIDS and remind us all of the importance of ensuring that this dreadful illness is not allowed to slip from our consciousness. This year we are delighted that the Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Tom Hartley, is lending his support to the event as well as being one of our speakers. Also speaking at the event will be Carmel Hanna MLA, who has just returned from a visit to Namibia where she visited a number of AIDS organisations. Carmel will speak about the situation as she saw it during her visit. We are also delighted that The HIV Support Centre’s youngest Volunteer, Jess, will be delivering a very powerful and emotive story on what it is like for one young person living and coping with HIV in Thailand.
