Privacy policy

This privacy policy sets out how NAT uses and protects any information that you give us when you use the World AIDS Day website.

Information that is gathered from visitors

In common with other websites, log files are stored on the web server saving details such as the visitor's IP address, browser type, referring page and time of visit.

We may collect the following information where users choose to supply this:

  • name and job title
  • contact information including email address and telephone number
  • demographic information such as postcode and type of organisation

Where this information is provided by the user voluntarily, the information will be stored on the server and associated with the form data accompanying the submission.

Users may also choose to email us with details and photos of how they are Acting Aware.

How the Information is used

The information is used to provide feedback on and help NAT continue to improve the content available, or to supply collection boxes and ribbons to those who make an order. Users who voluntarily offer their email address or telephone number on the feedback form may be contacted to ask for further feedback or clarification. Collection boxes will be delivered to the name and address supplied on the order form, and we may contact you by email and telephone if there are queries on the order, and to remind you to send funds collected back to NAT. Where users supply information and photos for how they are Acting Aware, NAT will also ask permission before publishing on any of our websites.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
